You know the sketch from Family Guy when Stewie is trying to get Louis' attention? Well this young Gila Woodpecker was doing the avian equivalent! He was so vociferous that I actually thought that maybe there was a snake raiding the nest but no, he just wanted to get Mum's attention.

Oh Celeste! He/she is so cute! I have seen them do that before and I have my own variety of birds doing that in my yard right now as well!

Mom was popping in and out Eileen. Sometimes she was just sitting on another limb of the cactus looking exhausted!
