This blog is not about provocative thoughts, ruminations on the world as we know it or anything else fancy. It is merely images from my personal 'little piece of paradise,' Enjoy.

Huge Spirit, Tiny Body.
I love this little male Broad-billed Hummingbird. He is the tyrant of the corner of our house.
He chases off all other birds from 'his' feeders
and whenever we walk past he chatters his disapproval at us too (as if we were planning to steal his nectar!)
This magnificent little character is a huge presence in spite of his diminutive stature.

A little cutie! We don't see hummingbirds in Hong Kong at all.
OH wow, lucky you! I would love to see this hummer. Great photos.
Quite an elegant bird. Not at all like the ones I see.
Hummers are so gutsy..I have to put up more feeders because a male claims each one..Love them...Have a wonderful week Celeste....Michelle
Excellent shots of this tiny jewel of a bird! The last is my favorite! Such detail!
Hi Friend of HK, thanks for dropping by. Judging from your blog, it looks as if you have some pretty cool birds too :)
Thanks Eileeninmd, he is a real treasure and keeps us constantly entertained.
He does spend a huge amount of time preening himself Leora so he works hard to maintain his image! :)
Hi Michelle, yes they are extremely territorial, thankfully I have been given several lovely feeders so my collection grows and that just means more hummingbirds :)
Thanks EG Wow, he seems to have grown accustomed to me pointing my camera at him so occasionally I get him in a good light and get a decent photo.
Thanks Kathie, he is a very obliging model I must say and I just can't help myself when he is in a good light. What is not to love about these guys? :)
