The Early Bird............
Waxworms are a great feeder favourite in our yard whether plucked directly from the feeder or hoovered up from the ground beneath as in the case with this Cactus Wren. Either way it seems, they taste very good!
Celeste, I love that bird and the pose! It can keep the worm, however! My chickadees and titmice here in Maine love them too! I must admit, I had to get used to feeding them, though. I hate the way they smell when I first open the package! Yuk! But, the birds love them, so I suffer through it!
Yes the bird stores sell them Roberta. I buy dried ones but some places sell live ones too. There is probably more nutrition in the live ones but they are harder to work with.
The things we do for our birds Kathie :) I guess I am used to them as we have a permanent colony going at work, we feed them to so many of our animals.

Hello Celeste, the wren is cute. It is another bird I would like to add to my life list. Happy Friday!
