The Ladder-backed Woodpeckers on our land are notoriously shy and I can never capture a good shot of them. It seems a little bribery works wonders as this beautiful little female just couldn't resist the lure of the suet feeder. Photographed at last!

I've also found the ladder-backs to be very camera shy. Great idea to use a suet feeder to attract them. Adorable portrait! :)

They are aren't they Diane, I wonder why that is. Maybe because the Gilas are so raucous?
I think everyone loves the suet Eileen, I could bankrupt myself trying to keep them supplied!!
