Cleaning Staff!
My husband had been sitting outside eating a granola bar and he had dropped a large nut on the floor. I went out after dark and happened to notice that the nut had gone.
It seems our local cleaning crew was hard at work. This adorable little pocket mouse had found the feast and wasn't about to give it up - look at his cheek pouch! That meal should certainly keep him going for a good while.

Great little cleaners, as long as they stay outside.
It is adorable!
Too cute! but I agree with Gaelyn...OUTSIDE!
Hi Celeste!! It has been busy here and I had wanted to visit you sooner. Tonight I finally got time to sit down:) I heard about your adventures and am shocked that a bear would come down that far in the canyon. I had no idea that they came down that far:) Love this little guy.....these are not mice you see everywhere. Cute little guy.:)
They do Gaelyn, so we can stay friends :)
Thanks Diane, I think so too :)
They don't seem to have the same desire to share our home as packrats do Kathie!! - Thankfully.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for dropping by.
The bear was a bit of a surprise to me too. I expected them further up the canyon and had seen the bear bins but somehow I didn't expect to see one where we did but I guess that is all part of the joy of the natural world - it's full of surprises :)
Oh my gosh..how sweet is that...
Isn't it adorable Michelle? Always makes me smile.
