We recently purchased a sweet little owl seed block. It was almost too cute to feed out but I am glad I did as the birds really love it.
This blog is not about provocative thoughts, ruminations on the world as we know it or anything else fancy. It is merely images from my personal 'little piece of paradise,' Enjoy.

A Magical Moment
I was chatting to my husband as I walked towards the sliding doors that lead out onto our back patio. Hoping to top up the bird feeders and check the water level in the bird bath. I slid open the door and stepped outside and noticed something sit up in the flower bed.
It only took a millisecond for my mind to process what I was seeing and as I did I stepped back inside and slid the door closed. That allowed me to call my husband over and grab my camera. Clearly I wasn't causing too much consternation as the Bobcat lay back down in the sun.
In fact I was obviously completely uninteresting (make that boring). Sorry birds, the feeders will have to wait for a while.
I had suspected that 'someone' had been sleeping in this particular spot, now I know who it is.

Secrets Revealed - Part Three
The third in my series is the kitchen cam. This is the camera closest to the house but it has the highest amount of traffic so I have split it into two posts. Here is the first half............
Bobcat showing off his beautiful fluffy tail
Saunters on by
Good old Wiley casually strolling through
And the Javalina roots around after dark
Wiley caught again
And a personal favourite of mine, the Skunk. Love that tail!

Perspective
Sometimes when photographing the birds in my yard I like to take a different perspective. The standard shots still have their appeal certainly
But sometimes the details appeal
The imperfections, the missing feather
The different angles
The shots that make a subject real rather than posed
Not that I would ever suggest that this fierce little Costas is anything less than perfection

Open to All
I recently bought a hanging birdbath which I placed near some of my seed feeders outside my kitchen window. I wasn't sure if the birds would take to it but it seemed to meet with their approval rather quickly and has now become the avian equivalent of the water cooler.
One morning I looked out to see the birdbath was a lot fuller than usual but considerably less crowded..................
