This blog is not about provocative thoughts, ruminations on the world as we know it or anything else fancy. It is merely images from my personal 'little piece of paradise,' Enjoy.

A Tiny Treasure
The most perfect things come in the tiniest packages.
This exquisite male Broad-billed Hummingbird has taken up residence outside our front door!

Nesting Time
I must admit I had a problem taking this picture because I was giggling so hard. When I first spotted this industrious little Verdin it's head was completely obscured by the large piece of nesting material it had collected. Irresistible :)

A Royal Visitor
It is not every day that I find an Empress in my yard!
This is Empress Leilia or to be more precise Asterocampa leilia
Distinguished by the two brown bars at the top of the forewing and the two black eyespots at the outer margin 'Her Majesty' is often found sunning on the ground and that is precisely where I first spotted her.
So nice of you to stop by Ma'am.
