Caught At Last!
I was sitting quietly in my yard, absorbing the sounds around me when I heard a different call. I looked up to see this little beauty perched a top a nearby mesquite. Hooded Orioles are notoriously flighty in our area so I sat very still and slowly raised my camera. I managed to get one shot of and then 'poof' it was gone.

Hello Celeste,
Beautiful shot of the Hooded Oriole. Have a happy day!
Such color!
Celeste, do you ever see them at your hummingbird feeders? They also like orange flavored suet! Plus, don't you put out fresh oranges? I think they also like ocotillo blossoms. I can't remember if you have any on your property. What a nice find, you stealthy lady, you!
It is a little excessive isn't it Roberta? :)
Kathie, they never come down as far as the feeders that I have seen. I only see them up past the pool. I do put out oranges but for whatever reason it doesn't lure them in but I live in hope :)
